Rosie, this is gorgeous! So many options (lace, trim, fabric)! You’ve outdone yourself this time. 🙂 Can’t wait to try it!

This is a lovely pattern. Thanks for presenting it.
Although I have done a couple of 18″ doll wedding gowns, veils, bouquets and even garters before, this design is a bit different and I especially like the idea of adding the lace to the bodice or the skirt as desired to complete the bride’s and bridesmaids’ ensembles.
I have so many things now to make once I get back home that I will be going non-stop all summer.
I hope this won’t be the one and only pattern in your Glitz and Glamour series. I’ll look forward to seeing and purchasing many more.
    Thanks again,
    Peggy

    • Thanks Peggy. I will be releasing more Glitz and Glamour in the coming months so looks like you will have your summer activities all sorted! Happy sewing, Rosie 🙂

  3. You’ve done it again Rosie. I have done wedding outfits for Barbies but not the little girl dolls. I agree with Peggy , don’t stop with this one some evening out show stoppers would be good too. Ta.

    Hi Rosie,
I made my daughter’s wedding dress 15 years ago and kept all the bits of material, lining and lace that were left over. You pattern with the lace overlay and sleeves is very similar. I have used some of the material for Baptismal scarves and, more recently, for Confirmation Banners for her daughters. I plan to make Ring Cushions for both the girls and now I can make mini wedding dresses for the bridal cars… I’ll put them away for the appropriate time.. thank you for this lovely pattern ( great value for money too ) best wishes Cm

    • What a wonderful connection you have, and continue to create between your daughter, her daughters and yourself all from your daughter’s wedding dress fabric. This is really special and I’m so glad to play a small part. Thanks Cherylmaree 🙂

This wedding dress is simply gorgeous!!! You’ve outdone yourself once again Rosie. You are so talented 🙂 I wish I could just get at least half your talent 🙂 I have seen wedding dresses online here and there for American Girl but have one question! Barbie has Ken to get married to but who does American Girl get to marry? There are no boy American Girl dolls except for the itty bitty babies. Who will stand beside the bride? How are the kids holding wedding ceremonies? I really have no clue and want to be filled in!!! Guess my imagination isn’t as creative as the kids are, lol

Have a great day and God bless!
    Ramona

    • Hi Ramona, thanks so much for the lovely comments. If you’re looking for a boy doll similar in size to the American Girl doll, I have seen them available from Kids ‘n Cats or Sonja Hartmann. I have also seen a few blogs on how to turn an 18″ girl doll into a boy doll, some cut the hair, others replace the wigs. I’m not sure why American Girl don’t have 18″ boy dolls available as I’m sure there would be some demand?

      • I’m sure there would be a huge demand! I guess they’re making too much money on what they have now? I don’t know. This idea must have crossed their mind. Maybe we should get a hold of their doll molds and make the boy dolls ourselves and fall into the million dollar bracket or more? lol At least people are improvising. I saw a youtube where they converted a girl doll into a boy. Maybe if I didn’t see the transformation I would have seen the boy in them but I kept seeing a girl doll and not a boy doll after the wig, lol Oh well!
